Today's teachers like to do most of their training on their own computers in their own surroundings, where courses can be tailored to fit their needs.

BITS can tailor-make a course for your individual school, whether for everyone (NOF training or Inset Days), the ICT coordinator, classroom assistants, governors, helpers or senior management.

Working as a Partner with GLPD providing NOF training

BITS are working alongside Granada Learning in the counties of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester to provide the New Opportunity Funding Training (NOF). If you require any further advice regarding this training please email or ring Chris or contact Granada Learning via our directory of related Educational links

Pre-Ofsted Inspections or Audit

BITS can audit your hardware and software prior to an inspection or simply to keep you up to date. We can prepare a five year plan of spending to add to your school plan.

This usually takes the following form

  1. Up to a day is spent in on site during which time we will visit every classroom to obtain relevant information.
  2. A meeting will be organised between BITS staff and the ICT coordinator
  3. A written report will be sent to the school within a month. This will highlight areas of strength and weaknesses and will suggest a way forward.

Post-Ofsted Support

Following an Ofsted BITS can work with your staff to develop a way forward. These sessions can be twilight or InSET days.

Working With Teachers

BITS have been working in schools training teachers since the late 80's. We have very experienced staff who can work in all Key Stages. We can work alongside the teacher in the classroom or organise short sessions where the staff have one-to-one training on their own computers

Activity Days

Newspaper Days - BITS have organised many newspaper days within schools. The day starts with the students becoming reporters, writers, editors, interviewers etc. for the day and ends with the paper going to press. The students produce a newspaper of the school activities, sporting achievements, interview famous parents and people in school and then at the end of the day collect all the material together to create a Newspaper. Later it is sold to the parents and students. It is great fun and a great day is had by all

Data handling Days - these usually revolve around CD-ROMs gathering information. Learning to make databases and interrogate them. Information is collected from a wide range of sources including the WWW.
